Frequently Asked Questions

ABA therapy is characterized by an evidence-based approach to learning based on scientific principles of behavior. As such, its application is not limited to any one particular area but rather can be applied to a wide range of skills depending on the individual needs of the client.
At LTABA, we focus primarily on developmentally significant milestones that young children may struggle to acquire at the same rate or same manner as their peers. This can include communication, social interaction, play and leisure skills, adaptive living skills, and reduction of inappropriate/restrictive behaviors.

Due to the nature of ABA services being highly individualized, the therapy schedule will vary depending on the needs of the child. At LTABA, we want to provide the highest quality services in short succession. Each session will be designed to be a max of 3 hours with at least a 30 minute break in between successive sessions to allow your child the space to rest, recharge, and get ready to restart. As a family and a team, we can arrive at a schedule that best suits your family and the needs of your child
-
We primarily specialize in early intervention and we are currently accepting clients between the ages of 2 and 6. Dependent on the needs of the child, we may also consider teens and young adults.
-
As long as we receive insurance approval, ABA services can be rendered: in-home, in school, and in community settings.
-
We require that parents meet with our ABA team 1 to 4 times a month (as needed). This will give your child and your family a chance to work on all of your priorities and ensure that your child is able to learn regardless of who they are around!

The effectiveness of ABA in treating deficits associated with autism has led to mandates in most states requiring insurance providers to cover ABA as a medically necessary treatment. While ABA has potentially diverse applications, autism is currently the only condition for which these mandates apply. For this reason, an ASD diagnosis is effectively a prerequisite to treatment. If your child does not yet have a diagnosis, but you have concerns regarding their development and are interested in an evaluation, please contact us to explore further options. We can provide guidance and resources for you to seek out an independent diagnostic evaluation and help ensure your child has access to the support they need.
