During our initial assessment, we go over all the expectations of both parties (parents & clients/clinicians).
Some of our simple expectations are:
A reasonable sized clean working area (adequate floor/table space)
Safety materials out of the way (knives, cleaning materials, etc)
If there are any safety concerns, we will be sure to address those as well during!
-
We go over all expectations and our policies throughout the initial assessment to ensure that you are informed and can make the right decision for your family.
Examples of this are:
maintaining at least 80-100% attendance for sessions (to ensure consistency)
Advising within 24 hours of changes to schedule (for unexpected doctors visits/sickness)
-
As a parent, you are in charge of deciding the following:
the kinds of things we work on (w/ clinician advisement)
the programs you don’t want to to work on
when you want to be discharged
If you ever have any doubts, feel free to ask!

At LTABA, similar to a doctor, prefer to use the lowest dosage possible to attain the highest progress and treatment. If we recommend our highest dosage (30 hours), we can do one of two things:
ramp up to the 30 hours (to make it a gradual change for both your family and for your kiddo)
stop wherever we notice is the most beneficial (if we recommended 30 but we respond best to 20, we won’t push for the 30)
